About

our story

“I started showing interest in honeybees when I was young. I always tried looking for beehives when I would venture into the forest by the house I grew up in. Although I didn’t have much success at finding colonies, that didn’t slow down my fascination with bees.

As I got older, I didn’t do much hunting for bees, but I also didn’t forget about them either. It wasn’t until 2003 when I bought my 1st bee package and started keeping bees. I started with 2 hives and have enjoyed this hobby ever since. Today I manage over 60 hives on a farm and produce orange honey, thistle honey, and wildflower honey. I also produce a special crop in years that there is excessive amounts of rain. That honey is called Blue Curl or Vinegarweed honey.

I am also interested in doing almond pollination, but haven’t had the opportunity to do so yet. I also have interest in queen rearing and raising queens to sell. I produce my own queens not only to save money, but it also gives me the opportunity to choose the genetics from the existing queens I have at that time. The traits I’m looking for the most are mite resistance, gentleness, and honey production.

I am mostly self taught thanks to YouTube, but I have read countless articles and studies that are bee related. My passion for bees has fueled my growth and has landed me in a hobby that has so much enjoyment and pain all at the same time. I have 3 social media outlets all under the company name and post videos and/or articles about bees and honey often to document my journey with these amazing creatures. Please join me on this journey and who knows…maybe you’ll take a liking at this and become a beekeeper someday yourself.”
